House votes to censure and remove Gosar from committees over violent video

Is this an example of the incivility of US politics and the hyper partisanship of Congress?

Watch the offending cartoon produced by Representative Paul Gosar- below.

The House of Representatives voted Wednesday 17th November 2021 to approve a resolution that censures Rep. Paul Gosar and strips him of his two committee assignments, the first time a sitting House member has been censured in more than 10 years.

The action led by House Democrats represents a major rebuke to the Arizona Republican for posting a photoshopped anime video to social media showing him appearing to kill Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and attacking President Joe Biden.

The final vote was 223 to 207. Republicans Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Liz Cheney of Wyoming voted with all the Democrats for the censure resolution. Republican Rep. David Joyce of Ohio voted present, meaning he took no position either way.

Gosar tweeted from his official congressional Twitter account a manipulated anime in which the Gosar figure flies through the air and slashes the Ocasio-Cortez figure across the back of the neck. Blood sprays profusely from the neck wound. Ocasio-Cortez’s lifeless head snaps back. Gosar moves on in the video, swords drawn, to confront President Biden.

Is AOC right to suggest this says something is seriously wrong with Congressional politics? or is she over reacting

Is this a legitimate means of reaching young people over the immigration debate or a shocking example of violent imagery? Or an example of the infantile level of discourse in Congress.
